The Veterans into Logistics team recently travelled to the NEC in Birmingham for the Commercial Vehicle Show 2026, bringing together organisations and professionals from across the road transport and logistics industry.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to meet with existing partners, build new relationships and speak with organisations about the opportunities available to veterans looking to build rewarding careers within the sector.
During the day, we were pleased to catch up with one of our partners, Samsara, as well as one of our funding partners, The Veterans’ Foundation, whose continued support helps us deliver our work with the Armed Forces community.
The team also spoke with representatives from Ford Motor Company, The AA, TRS Training Ltd, Mission Community and many more organisations from across the industry.
There was even an opportunity to meet renowned strongman Mark Felix, who was appearing at one of the stands during the show.
What stood out throughout the event was the sheer scale and variety of the commercial vehicle and logistics sector, and the breadth of career opportunities it can provide for those transitioning from military service.
Veterans bring a wide range of transferable skills into civilian employment, from leadership and teamwork to discipline, resilience and the ability to perform under pressure. The logistics industry provides an environment where many of those qualities can be put to excellent use.
Events such as the Commercial Vehicle Show are therefore about much more than simply networking. They give Veterans into Logistics the opportunity to strengthen relationships with employers, training providers, funders and other organisations that can play a part in supporting the veterans we work with.
Building these connections helps us create more pathways into training and employment while ensuring employers across the sector understand the value that veterans can bring to their organisations.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with the Veterans into Logistics team during our visit to Birmingham.
We look forward to continuing those conversations and developing new opportunities for veterans across the logistics industry.
Building relationships. Creating opportunities. Driving Veterans Forward.
